Hulu.com has become one of my favorite Websites. Among the many Websites I visit on a daily basis, Hulu.com ranks in my top ten favorites. As someone that loves to watch movies and my favorite TV shows, this site gets my visit daily. Hulu allows users to enjoy great videos on Hulu.com or at other popular Web sites across the Web. Hulu videos are available on AOL, Comcast, MSN, MySpace, and Yahoo! in the U.S. as well as a growing network of personal blogs, fan sites, and other Web sites where users choose to embed the Hulu video player.

Company
Hulu was founded in March 2007 by NBC Universal and News Corp and is operated independently by a dedicated management team with offices in Los Angeles, New York, and Beijing. Hulu closed a $100 million investment from private equity firm Providence Equity Partners in October 2007.

Mission
Hulu's mission is to help people find and enjoy the world's premium video content when, where and how they want it.

Overview
Hulu is an online video service that offers hit TV shows, movies and clips at Hulu.com and other online destination sites — all for free, anytime in the U.S. For more details on Hulu's service, check out the Hulu product tour.

Content: Hulu brings together a large selection of videos from more than 100 content providers, including FOX, NBC Universal, MGM, Sony Pictures Television, Warner Bros. and more. Users can choose from more than 900 current primetime TV hits such as The Simpsons, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Office the morning after they air, classics like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The A Team, Airwolf and Married...with Children, movies like Men in Black, Ghostbusters, and The Karate Kid, and clips from Saturday Night Live, Friends and other popular TV shows and movies.

User Experience
Hulu is focused on quality and convenience and strives to create the best possible online video experience.

  • Hulu gives users the ability to customize their viewing experience online.
  • Hulu allows users to watch favorites or discover new shows anytime — at home or on the road.
  • Hulu's search feature helps users find any premium video online even if it is not directly available on Hulu.com.
Hulu is easy to use and share. Simply go to Hulu.com, and click on a video to watch right away.

  • Hulu does not require a download of any software. Users only need a Flash 9.0 enabled computer and an Internet connection to enjoy.
  • Hulu offers the freedom to share full-length episodes or clips via e-mail or embed on other Web sites, blogs and social networking pages.
  • Hulu's clipping feature allows users to select a portion of the video they would like to share.

Hulu is free and legal through an advertising supported model.

  • Videos are available for unlimited streaming; watch favorite shows and clips over and over, for free.
  • Videos contain fewer ads than on TV. Advertisements appear during normal commercial breaks.
  • Hulu acquires the rights to distribute its videos, making them available to users legally

Distribution: Hulu allows users to enjoy great videos on Hulu.com or at other popular Web sites across the Web. Hulu videos are available on AOL, Comcast, MSN, MySpace, and Yahoo! in the U.S. as well as a growing network of personal blogs, fan sites, and other Web sites where users choose to embed the Hulu video player.

Advertising: Hulu gives advertisers an opportunity to associate their brands with premium online video content, connect with highly engaged consumers and extend their reach beyond Hulu.com to Hulu's distribution network. Additionally, Hulu offers and is committed to the continued development of innovative, new advertising experiences.

Okay, so that's the story. Now, go check out Hulu.com and enjoy. You may now cancel your cable or dish service. Why pay for what you can get for free?

Vote or Don't Vote?

Some Americans will be voting for the next President of The United States in November, 2008. Some will not! For those that will be voting, please be aware of the the issues, research the candidates and know what they stand for!

I get very ANGRY when someone tells me who they are voting for, but they can't tell me why they are voting for them. Why vote for someone if you don't know what he or she stands for?

Electing the President of The United States is an important decision that everyone should take seriously. Please do not vote for a candidate based on what Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, or any other media corporation says about one candidate or the other. Voting without knowledge is worse than not voting at all. I disagree with the statement,"If you don't vote you can't complain." I do not believe in picking the lesser of the two evils, because I would still be picking an evil.

All voters should be required to take a test before they are eligable to cast their vote. The test should be multiple choice and some true / false, covering questions and answers about each candidate. I believe that requiring a test would cause more people to educate themselves, resulting in a better election. That is, if our vote even counts?

Hello, and welcome to my blog, the place where I post rants, my thoughts and discuss topics as they come to me.

I'm an Owensboro, KY-based Web designer / developer, and this is my official Blog. I currently own and manage Web Creation Studios, a Web design firm located in Owensboro, Kentucky.

I usually work 10-12 hours a day. When I'm not working, my favorite past-time is playing pool/billiards.

I'm not one to talk about myself, but I hope I have given a glimpse of who I am and what I do. If you want to know more, just ask.
